A Simple But Effective Strategy For Success; The Ultimate Guide To Growing, Leading And Managing Your Life And Businesses

The Last Self-Help Book You Will Ever Need”

You can achieve success in anything that you set your mind to.
And this book has helped thousands do just that.

Anytime I catch myself worrying about my performance I relate back to these principles and analyze exactly where and in what areas I am lacking.

The tactics laid out in these few pages could easily extend into a lengthy novel topping thousands of words, but I know your time is valuable, and I too know that many of these habits are rendered useless unless they are implemented alongside a structured disciplinary strategy – THIS IS THAT STRATEGY.

The Block Bard CLASSICS

The Iliad

Admired for almost three millennia; Homer’s ultimate epic, The Iliad, along with its successor, The Odyssey, was memorized by poets across the lands of Greece as was The Bible in later times.

The ancient Greeks themselves held it as the most important piece of literature as well as the cornerstone of their culture and thus, civilization. By force of its insurmountable epicness, The Iliad, (as it was one of the very first epics), sets the standard for the entire definition of the word.

Meet the Heroes who helped shape the Western world, in this, the #1 English translation in the world of: The Iliad

This edition translated by Samuel Butler,
with introduction by Mackenzie Andres.

The Odyssey

“Homer’s Odyssey is the single most influential piece of literature in Western Civilization. It is the bonfire of the humanities and the crest of cultural celebration.”
– M. L. Andres, author of ‘A Simple but Effective Strategy for Success‘ & Founder of The Block Bard

Odysseus takes what would normally take two weeks to sail from ancient Troy (situated on the western coast of Turkey), 10 years to complete the same journey. Plagued by pro-Trojan, anti-Greek Gods like Poseidon, Aphrodite, Apollo, and Athena who would make his voyage home a trip to remember no doubt. He faces cyclops, sorceresses, and all sorts of treacherous trials in his attempt to return home to his Wife on the island of Ithaca.

Metamorphoses

“It is the single most important work of poetry in ancient history.” – M. L. Andres, author of ‘A Simple but Effective Strategy for Success‘ & Founder of The Block Bard

Ovid’s 15-book epic, written in exquisite Latin hexameter, is a rollercoaster of a read. Beginning with the creation of the world, and ending with Rome in his own lifetime, the Metamorphoses drags the reader through time and space, from beginnings to endings, from life to death, from moments of delicious joy to episodes of depravity and abjection.

The madness and chaos of some 250 stories, spanning around 700 lines of poetry per book, are woven together by the theme of metamorphosis or transformation. The artistic dexterity involved in pulling off this literary feat is testimony to Ovid’s skill and ambition as a poet. This accomplishment also goes a long way in explaining the rightful place the Metamorphoses holds within the canon of classical literature, placed as it is beside other great epics of Mediterranean antiquity such as the Iliad, Odyssey and Aeneid.

Moby-Dick

Melville’s Moby Dick sets the tone for American epic literature.

Modern classics have tried countless times to rival the feats in which Herman with Moby-Dick underscores, none coming close to the grip this never-ending-adventure-of-a-novel has on its readers, accounting for and ascending the anatomy of whales, to American-Indigenous culture, to classical scripture.

This edition is as written in 1851.
